Introduction to UOW Australia

UOW Malaysia KDU is part of the University of Wollongong’s international network of campuses and learning centres, which deliver the academic excellence of a leading Australian university to strategic locations across the globe.

A vibrant and progressive university with undiminished ambitions, the University of Wollongong is ranked among the world’s elite universities and is driven to advance its research reputation and learning environment to earn a place in the top 1% of universities worldwide.

UOW traces its origins to 1951 when a Division of the then New South Wales University of Technology was established in Wollongong. Ten years later the Division became the Wollongong College of the University of New South Wales and, in 1975, the University of Wollongong was incorporated.

In over 50 years, the University has grown from a provincial feeder college with 300 students to an international university with over 30,000 students spread across three campuses and five access centres.

Today, UOW is actively committed to providing an education that reflects the changing needs of not only students, but also employers all over the world.

A Five-Star University

The University of Wollongong has achieved an outstanding 30 stars out of a possible 30 in the six key educational experience categories assessed by the Good Universities Guide 2018.

The ranking considers universities across key performance indicators, where only the top twenty per cent of universities nationwide can be awarded 5 stars in any one category. This demonstrates UOW graduates are well-rounded, enjoy high employment rates, great access to further study, and are taught by leaders in their field.
