Students Apply Business Insights to COVID-Affected Businesses

By UOW Malaysia KDU

It is no exaggeration to say that the Covid-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of a million and affected millions more worldwide. Apart from the growing mortality rate, many are facing financial hardship due to unemployment and the closing down of businesses.

Malaysia, like many countries, was not spared. During the period when Malaysia was under the Movement Control Order (MCO), where many business operations were halted, many small and medium-sized enterprises found themselves facing a bleak and challenging future.

A group of UOW Malaysia KDU students from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) class reached out to small and medium-sized enterprises such as ProShield, Loong Foong Seafood, BajuNyawaBaru, Bunhead Studio etc.

Over the course of the CSR project, UOW Malaysia KDU students were educated and exposed to the many issues related to the operations of the businesses and the hardships faced by these companies, during the MCO. Our students are now working closely with these companies to identify these business challenges, as well as to coming up with effective marketing solutions.

The students documented their efforts in some of the videos that can be accessed through the following links.
