As planned previously, the Malay Cultural Society organised an Iftar event called ‘A Bite of Happiness’ on the 5th of April 2023 from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm. The event was held with great success, with participation from society members, volunteers, and guests who were invited. The guests consisted of children and childcare workers from an orphanage called ‘Cahaya Kasih Bestari.’

Before the commencement of the event, society members and volunteers engaged in preparation work by putting up decorations and setting up the venue. The setup was completed without significant complications and a team was assigned to receive the guests upon their arrival. Once the children and the childcare workers had arrived on campus, they were tended to and seated in preparation for their breaking of fast. To keep the children happy and entertained during their wait, they were shown cartoon programs on TV.

After the children and other attendees had broken their fast, the event was officiated by an opening speech by SAC member, Aisyah. Aisyah in her speech expressed welcome and gratitude for the presence of all who joined and provided some introductory statements about the event. The event the proceeded with tadarus and followed by the maghreeb prayers. The grand dinner was subsequently served, with a delectable variety of traditional Malay cuisines for the guests to indulge.

After the grand dinner, a donation handover ceremony to the representative of the orphanage was held. The Malay Cultural Society presented a donation of cash and a hamper. The representative of the orphanage expressed their gratitude to the Malay Cultural Society for their generous donations and warm gestures.

The event then proceeded with the teraweeh prayers where the guests were invited to stay and perform their prayers. The event ended at 10.00 pm, and the guests departed with a memorable experience.

The Malay Cultural Society’s iftar event ‘A Bite of Happiness’ was a success. The event was held with great enthusiasm, and the guests enjoyed the delicious food and lively atmosphere. The donation handover ceremony to the orphanage was the highlight of the event and the Malay Cultural Society was proud to be able to contribute to the orphanage’s cause.
