The Student & Alumni Centre (SAC) in collaboration with Graduan, a leading career resource platform in Malaysia, took a proactive step in preparing students of UOW Malaysia for their upcoming internship by organising an online seminar on Webex from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm on July 14, 2023.

This ‘Career Enhancement Series’, an online seminar, was made compulsory for the students to better understand the procedure and tips when looking for a placement and navigating through the formalities of the professional world.

Commencing at 2.30 pm with nearly 50 students throughout the seminar, Ms. Sharifah Azura from SAC gave a warm welcome to the students and introduced Ms. Hannis Anuar, representative of Graduan,

Ms. Hannis delved into a wide array of topics centered around the theme of personal branding, emphasising the importance of one’s social skills, networking, grooming, attitude, self-promotion, online presence, curricular vitae writing, video resumes and general guidelines.

The session was described in detail by Ms. Hannis where she shared special tips, do’s and don’ts for students to be aware of when doing their internship. Students also engaged in a productive Q&A session where they were able to clarify their queries.

Then, the event proceeded with an Internship Briefing by Ms. Azura who provided the students with an overview of the internship application process, procedures, responsibilities, important dates, disciplinary procedures, and other resources. This session also engaged in a Q&A session with the students.

Overall, ‘Career Enhancement Series’ was well-received by the students as they demonstrated a good understanding for their future internship experience.
