Collaborative Win for a Hunger-Free Malaysia!
On 23 September 2024, a team known as Big Four, comprising Lim Cheng Hong, a UOW Malaysia School of Business student, and three driven students from a reputable Australian university branch campus in Malaysia, proudly secured the position of second runner-up in the Corporate Insight and Empowerment (CIE) X 2024 competition, organised by the Malaysian Students Council of Australia (MASCA) Victoria. This achievement came with a cash prize of RM2,500 and recognition for their innovative solutions aimed at creating a hunger-free Malaysia by 2030.
The team worked collaboratively to develop comprehensive policy proposals, focused on crucial areas such as agricultural investment, food distribution and logistics, and food security initiatives. Importantly, the strategies were designed to align with the Green Technology Master Plan Malaysia 2017-2030 and the National Agrofood Policy 2021-2030, which promotes energy efficiency and sustainability.
The competition took place at the University of Melbourne, with Big Four representing Malaysia competed virtually against talented undergraduate students from prestigious institutions such as the University of Sydney, Queensland University of Technology, University of New South Wales, and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Participating in CIE X 2024 offered more than just recognition; it provided an opportunity to contribute to a vital cause and advocate for sustainable solutions in food security. This experience has deepened their commitment to driving positive change for Malaysia’s future.
