UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College’s (UOWMKDU Penang) team UO Double U Pro Max made the university proud by clinching the 2nd Runner‑Up Award at the Jabil IT Early Career Programmes (ECP) Bootcamp 3.0: Data & AI Innovation. The team — comprising Bachelor of Computer Science students Justin Tan Hao Ren (Team Leader), Devadarsini Ganesh, Lee Ying Theng, and Lim Dien Chi — impressed the judges with their innovative solution and confident presentation skills, advancing from the initial virtual pitch to the Top 5 finalists. Their final presentation, evaluated by industry experts from TalentCorp, AWS, Yoda Tech, and Jabil, demonstrated how data and AI concepts can be applied to real‑world challenges.
Adding to the achievement, Justin Tan Hao Ren received the Best Male Presenter Award for his outstanding communication skills and was awarded a guaranteed internship with Jabil — an invaluable opportunity to gain industry exposure and further develop his professional expertise.
The bootcamp, hosted by Jabil, a global manufacturing solutions provider with a strong focus on innovation and technology, was held across two sessions: Day 1 online via MS Teams on 24 June 2026 and Day 2 physically at Amari Hotel, Bayan Lepas, Penang on 2 July 2026. It brought together 11 shortlisted teams (44 students), with the Top 5 finalists (20 students) competing in the final stage.
UOWMKDU Penang — together with Team UO Double U Pro Max’s mentors Dr Wong Khang Siang (Head of Department, Computing) and Associate Professor Dr Sim Hock Kheng (Head of Department, Engineering) — is immensely proud of the team’s achievement.
