By UOW Malaysia
The aroma of inspiration filled the air at UOW Malaysia Glenmarie campus as students from the culinary program gathered for an engaging Alumni Sharing Session with distinguished alumnus Chef Muhammad Khoirunnaas Anuar, fondly known as Chef Nas.
A proud graduate of UOW Malaysia with a Bachelor of Culinary Arts, Chef Nas took students on a fascinating journey through his career — from the classrooms of UOW Malaysia to Alma – La Scuola Internazionale di Cucina Italiana in Italy, where he honed his craft under Michelin-starred mentors. His stories of working alongside world-renowned chefs and adapting to diverse kitchen cultures offered a rare glimpse into the demanding yet rewarding world of fine dining.
Today, Chef Nas channels his international experience into his own culinary venture, The Nas Eatery, back in his hometown of Brunei. His story stood as a powerful reminder that passion, perseverance, and global exposure can transform dreams into reality.
Students eagerly participated in the lively Q&A session, seeking advice on navigating industry challenges, pursuing overseas opportunities, and building their own entrepreneurial paths.
The event proved both motivational and eye-opening, leaving the 25 attending students inspired to sharpen their skills and embrace the journey ahead. As one participant put it, “Chef Nas showed us that success is built from courage, curiosity, and never giving up on learning.”
The session truly encapsulated the spirit of UOW Malaysia — nurturing talent, inspiring ambition, and connecting education to the world beyond.
