The School of Engineering at UOW Malaysia recently welcomed Maistorage Technology Sdn Bhd (Maistorage) to share invaluable insights into advancements in semiconductor technology, IC design, and AI storage with a group of ten Engineering faculty members.
Mr Yap Kee Kim, General Manager at Maistorage, presented the company’s significant contributions to Malaysia’s tech sector, particularly its commitment to talent retention and development in a fast-paced digital economy. He discussed the company’s recruitment initiatives, ongoing career fairs, and the essential skills needed for success in the semiconductor industry.
Launched by Taiwan-based Phison Electronics Corporation, Maistorage aims to revolutionise Malaysia’s semiconductor industry through a robust RM1 billion investment in research and development. Their innovative work in AI storage solutions complements our engineering program’s mission to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in a knowledge-based economy.
This collaboration underscores the School of Engineering’s dedication to integrating industry expertise into our academic programs, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the competitive global engineering landscape.
