In January 2025, an exhilarating two-day mobility program brought 30 students and 5 school representatives from Hatyaiwitthayalai Somboonkulkunya School, Hatyai, Thailand, into the fascinating worlds of Creative Graphic Design and 3D Printing. Hosted at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College’s Batu Kawan Campus by the Department of Built Environment (DOBE) and the Department of Engineering (DOE), the event gave participants hands-on experience with cutting-edge digital tools.
Day 1 kicked off with a warm welcome and an energising ice-breaking session led by DOBE, preparing the students for the journey ahead. The first workshop, hosted by DOE, immersed the students in Creative 3D Modelling, where they learned to design, model, and print their own creations using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology.
On Day 2, the students dived into the world of Creative Design, mastering industry-standard software and essential design principles to produce visually stunning digital artwork. The program concluded with the much-anticipated Student Shout-out Spectacular—an interactive forum where students shared feedback and showcased their work. To top it off, awards were presented for the best 3D Modelling and Creative Design, celebrating the students’ exceptional achievements.
Whether future 3D innovators or digital creatives, this immersive program offered the perfect platform for students to explore, create, and shine!
