In a powerful display of empathy and action, 28 students and lecturers from the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA), UOW Malaysia Chapter, took to the streets of Kuala Lumpur on 18 April 2025 for Meals of Hope—an initiative to combat hunger.
Collaborating with The Assembly Soup Kitchen (T.A.S.K.) and Food4U, the day began at UOW Malaysia Glenmarie, with meal prep led by T.A.S.K., followed by a heartfelt distribution effort in Chow Kit, guided by Food4U founder Tony Lian. Alongside giving out food, volunteers listened to stories and built meaningful connections—highlighting the deeper purpose of the initiative. The event aligned with several UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and SDG 17: Production, and Partnerships for the Goals.
The project was supported by JL Facilities Management (RM1,000 sponsorship) and Jantzen Water, who donated bottled water for volunteers and recipients alike.
Meals of Hope wasn’t just about feeding the hungry—it was about inspiring a movement. One meal, one gesture of kindness, has the power to spark a meaningful difference.
