On 29 June 2026, 25 UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College (UOWMKDU Penang) students participated in the AWS Technical Workshop – Build a Serverless AI Image Editing App on AWS, conducted by Mr Rezza Danial, Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s leading cloud computing provider.

The workshop introduced students to cloud technologies, serverless architecture, and Generative AI, offering a comprehensive look at modern digital innovation. They explored services such as Amazon Cognito, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Bedrock, before diving into the highlight of the day — a hands‑on technical session.

During the practical exercise, students designed and developed an Agentic AI Weather Application using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. Through this experience, they gained first-hand exposure to how artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and serverless technologies can work together to create innovative solutions for real-world applications.

The workshop strengthened students’ technical capabilities while enhancing their problem-solving, critical thinking, and application development skills. Through the Industry Adjunct Speaker Series, UOWMKDU Penang continues to provide students with opportunities to learn directly from industry experts and gain future-ready knowledge aligned with the evolving demands of the technology sector.
