Approximately 100 alumni and guests recently came together for a memorable Reunion Hi-Tea Alumni event organised by the UOW Malaysia Alumni Chapter. Held on Saturday, 17 May 2025 at the Tropicana Golf & Country Club, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, the gathering celebrated enduring friendships and professional connections within the UOW community.

The afternoon began with the arrival of guests eager to reunite with familiar faces. The programme officially commenced with welcoming remarks by Noor Ilias Mohd Idris, Chairman of the organising committee. His address set a warm and inviting tone for the day’s celebrations.

A highlight of the programme was a special address from the UOW Malaysia Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Hiew Pang Leang, who shared insights and updates from the university. Also in attendance representing UOW Malaysia were Professor Dr Hon Wei Min, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and Foo Huey Shin, Assistant Manager, Student & Alumni Centre. This was followed by greetings from YBhg Tan Sri Dato Seri (Dr) Mohamad Norza, President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) and Executive Chairman & President of Citaglobal Berhad, adding further prestige to the occasion.

Attendees then enjoyed a relaxing session of Hi-Tea and Karaoke, providing a perfect opportunity for informal interactions and shared laughter. The event culminated with an exciting lucky draw, adding an element of anticipation and fun. The reunion left participants with warm memories and stronger connections, a testament to the enduring bonds forged during their time at the University of Wollongong and celebrating UOW’s strong alumni network in Malaysia.
