UOW Malaysia Celebrates Australia Day: A Fusion of Friendship, Food, and Fun

The 30th of January 2024 marked a vibrant celebration of Australia Day at the EQ Hotel, with UOW Malaysia playing a significant role as one of the sponsors of the event. The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including the newly appointed High Commissioner-designate Danielle Heinecke and the esteemed Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, who served as the guest of honour.

Under the theme of the “3Fs” – Friendship, Food, and Fun – the event encapsulated the essence of the enduring relationship between Australia and Malaysia. As guests mingled and enjoyed the festivities, the air was filled with a palpable sense of camaraderie and cultural exchange. Also present was top management of UOW Malaysia, including YBhg Datuk Seri (Dr.) Michael Yam, YBhg. Dato Mohammad Medan, Ms. Jennifer Ng, Prof. Dr. Hiew Pang Leang, Prof. D. Hon Wei Min, and Mr. Shanker Sathivellu. Their participation underscored the university’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and promoting cross-cultural understanding. At the UOW Malaysia booth, guests had the opportunity to learn more about the university’s diverse programs and initiatives. It served as a platform for engagement and dialogue, further strengthening ties between UOW Malaysia and the broader community.
