By UOW Malaysia

UOW Malaysia proudly marked another milestone in its academic journey with the successful hosting of its 2025 Convocation Ceremonies on 22 and 23 November 2025. Held first at the UOW Malaysia Glenmarie Campus in Selangor and subsequently at the SPICE Convention Centre in Penang, the celebrations brought together graduates, their families, and honoured guests for two memorable days of reflection, achievement, and pride.

The Glenmarie ceremony on 22 November recognised 750 graduates, with 411 attending the event in person. The following day in Penang, 476 graduates were celebrated, 251 of whom attended the ceremony. Both events showcased the collective accomplishments of the Class of 2025 and paid tribute to their dedication, resilience, and hard work throughout their academic journey.

Both ceremonies were graced by the presence of esteemed academic and industry leaders, reflecting UOW Malaysia’s strong global connections and commitment to excellence. Among the distinguished guests were Datuk Seri (Dr) Michael Yam Kong Choy, Chancellor of UOW Malaysia; YBhg Dato’ Mohammad Medan Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Governors of UOW Malaysia; Michael Still, Chancellor of the University of Wollongong Australia; Professor Dr G.Q. Max Lu, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of Wollongong Australia; Marisa Mastroianni, Group CEO of UOW Global Enterprises; Professor Dr Joe Chicharo, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Growth & Global) of the University of Wollongong Australia; and Iulian Virlan, Chief Executive Officer of IMI International Institute Switzerland.

In his address, Professor Dr Max Lu reminded graduates that their journey was only just beginning, emphasising that “graduation is not the end of your learning, but the start of lifelong discovery,” and encouraging them to “go forward with pride” as members of the global UOW family.

Across both venues, the atmosphere was vibrant and filled with pride as graduates took to the stage to receive their scrolls. Families and friends celebrated enthusiastically alongside academic staff and industry partners, reflecting the supportive community that underpins the UOW Malaysia experience. Many graduates now leave ready to forge meaningful careers, contributing their skills and knowledge to Malaysia and the wider global community.

The 2025 Convocation Ceremonies stand as a testament to UOW Malaysia’s enduring mission to nurture future-ready leaders and uphold the highest standards of academic excellence. As the Class of 2025 embarks on its next chapter, they carry forward the values, spirit, and transformative experience that define the UOW community.
