The School of Engineering, UOW Malaysia proudly celebrates Shanice Tay Shuen Nee, an exceptional graduate of the BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronics Engineering program, for her remarkable academic excellence.
Shanice has been awarded the prestigious IEM Gold Medal Award 2024 at the 66th Annual Dinner & Awards Night on 19 April 2025, recognising her as the best final-year engineering student at UOW Malaysia. With an impressive CGPA of 3.76, she also clinched the Best Final Year Project award at the EUReS Symposium 2024 for her project on EEG-based mental stress detection using machine learning, supervised by Ts. Dr Goh Thing Thing, Dr Khairul Azlan, and Mr Mason Chua.
Her work not only showcases technical innovation but also contributes meaningfully to mental health research in engineering education. Further cementing her academic distinction, her paper has been accepted for publication in the Jurnal Kejuruteraan (Engineering Journal), a respected Malaysian engineering research publication.
