By UOW Malaysia

The scent of ambition filled the air as around 100 high school students at St David’s High School Melaka gathered on 18 June 2025 for a special edition of the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA) Career Exploration Talk, led by UOW Malaysia’s very own Chef Adrian Pinto.

Bringing stories from the kitchen to the classroom, Chef Adrian captivated his young audience with tales of his journey through the hospitality and culinary world—peppering his talk with humour, practical advice, and passion. From flipping his first omelette to managing high-pressure kitchens, his insights painted a vivid picture of the rewarding paths in culinary arts.

Head of School Mr Yong Kwai Ying welcomed the session, stressing the importance of skills and education in building successful careers. The lively Q&A session, paired with personal anecdotes, left students buzzing with new inspiration.

“Chef Adrian showed us that a career in hospitality isn’t just about food—it’s about creativity, passion, and endless possibilities,” shared one eager student.

This session didn’t just plant seeds of interest—it ignited flames of passion among tomorrow’s culinary professionals.
