UOW Malaysia marked a significant milestone with the successful opening of its new UOW Malaysia Education Counselling Centre at Prima Tanjung, Penang Island on 11 April 2026. The event was held in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, bringing together representatives from the University and invited guests to commemorate the occasion, including Yang Berhormat Lee Boon Heng, State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Kebun Bunga.

The launch was graced by Marisa Mastroianni, Managing Director and Group CEO of UOW Global Enterprises, whose presence underscored the importance of this development within the broader UOW global network. In her address, she emphasised the growing need for clear and trusted guidance in an increasingly complex education landscape, noting that while students today have more choices than ever, many struggle with direction. She highlighted that the Centre aims to provide practical, informed advice to help students and families make confident decisions about their future pathways.

The opening ceremony featured a simple yet meaningful programme, reflecting UOW Malaysia’s continued efforts to expand its outreach and strengthen engagement with prospective students in the northern region. Marisa also underscored the value of the University’s global connectivity, highlighting opportunities for students to access pathways across campuses in Malaysia and internationally, including Australia.

The new UOW Malaysia Education Counselling Centre at Prima Tanjung is intended to enhance accessibility to educational guidance and information, particularly for students and families based in Penang and its surrounding areas. It will serve as a dedicated space where individuals can have open conversations about academic pathways, career directions, and future possibilities, while gaining insights into the facilities and learning environment at the UOW Malaysia Batu Kawan Campus.

The successful launch reflects UOW Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to supporting student aspirations, strengthening engagement with schools and parents, and extending its presence within the community.
