UOW Malaysia is proud to announce the outstanding achievement of its student-athlete, Loh Zhi Wei, who emerged as Champion in the Women’s Singles category at the ASICS MASISWA Badminton Championship 2025. The inter-university tournament, open to students from private higher education institutions (IPTS) recognised by MASISWA, was held from 26-28 June 2025.

UOW Malaysia sent a dedicated team to compete in various categories, including Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and the Team Event, highlighting the university’s continuous effort to encourage student involvement in competitive sports and fostering teamwork, discipline, and personal development. Loh Zhi Wei demonstrated exceptional skill, focus, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, securing her title with a commanding straight-sets victory of 15-8, 15-11 in the final match.

This win, along with the overall participation of UOW Malaysia students, underscores the university’s dedication to holistic education, supporting student success both academically and athletically. The championship also served as a valuable platform to promote unity, resilience, and sportsmanship among IPTS students nationwide.
