On 13 July 2025, the Institut Penyiaran dan Penerangan Tun Abdul Razak (IPPTAR) in Kuala Lumpur buzzed with energy as 166 participants, including students, educators, and communication professionals, gathered for YOU & AI Meet @ Bangsar—a half-day forum spotlighting AI’s fast-rising role in shaping strategic communication today and beyond.

The event opened with an inspiring keynote by YB Datuk Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil, Minister of Communications, who hailed AI as a catalyst in Malaysia’s digital transformation. He also urged the adoption of mandatory labelling for AI-generated content to combat scams, defamation, and impersonation—emphasising transparency and public trust as critical safeguards in the digital era.

Co-organised by the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA) university chapters from Universiti Malaya (UM), University of Wollongong Malaysia (UOWM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), INTI International University Nilai (INTI) and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), together with the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM), the event formed part of the IPRM AI Festival.

Participants engaged with Malaysian, ASEAN, and global thought leaders in lively panels exploring AI ethics, the skills PR practitioners need for the future, and the balance between innovation and responsibility.

More than just a tech conversation, the forum championed a human-first approach—highlighting AI’s potential for smarter storytelling, authentic engagement, and ethical communication. It also became a vibrant hub for networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration.
