Empowering Change: From Awareness to Action

Empowering Change: From Awareness to Action

Global Climate Change Week (GCCW) is an annual October initiative uniting universities worldwide to raise climate awareness, inspire action, and promote solutions through education and research. As part of the University of Wollongong global network, UOW Malaysia proudly supports this movement through Global Climate Action 2025, an event focused on fostering awareness, engagement, and collaboration for a sustainable future.

The Global Climate Action 2025 is a campus festival featuring a series of engaging events that brings together students, lecturers, and public to showcase and share ideas for a sustainable future.  This event will feature a variety of green activities, interactive exhibitions, hands-on workshops, informative talks, and green innovations that highlight local efforts in tackling climate change. Discover practical solutions in areas like renewable energy, sustainable living, waste management, eco-technology, and community-based environmental initiatives.

Objective of the Event:

  1. To raise awareness among students, staff, and public about the impact and urgency of climate change through exhibitions, workshops and activities.
  2. To promote collaboration between the UOW Malaysia community and external stakeholders in developing innovative climate solutions.
  3. To inspire participants to take meaning climate action by demonstrating sustainable practices and eco-conscious behaviour for continued environmental engagement.
