UOW Malaysia is delighted to share the remarkable achievements of the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA), Penang at the Food & Hospitality Malaysia Salon Culinaire Malaysia 2025, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 23 to 26 September 2025. This year’s prestigious culinary showcase attracted 1,060 entries from 18 countries, competing across 35 competition classes, and was judged by a distinguished panel of 125 international and local judges. Amidst such strong competition, the SHTCA Penang team, led by Team Manager Chef Darren Tan Yeok Ping (Senior Lecturer, SHTCA) and Assistant Chef Chuah Lay Yen (Lecturer – Program Leader, SHTCA), delivered an outstanding performance — earning a total of 4 Gold and 3 Silver medals, alongside 3 Challenge Trophies.
