On 2 April 2026, Hospitality and Culinary Arts students from UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College had the wonderful opportunity to visit Citadines Prai Penang as part of their experiential learning journey. Accompanied by staff members including Ms Anna Lim Siew Fang (Senior Manager, Career & Placement Centre), Chef Chuah Lay Yen (Program Leader), Chef Darren Tan Yeok Ping (Senior Lecturer), Chef Ooi Yu Wen (Lecturer), Chef Abdul Rauf Bin Munif Zarirruddin Fikri (Lecturer), and Mr Ng Yee Kwang (Lecturer), the group gained valuable firsthand exposure to the dynamic operations of the hospitality industry.
Throughout the session, students explored various aspects of hotel management, including daily operational processes, facilities management, and customer service excellence. They learned the importance of delivering exceptional guest experiences and developed a clearer understanding of industry expectations and professional practices within a real working environment. This direct engagement helped students strengthen their adaptability, professionalism, and appreciation of service excellence — bridging classroom theory with practical application.
We extend our sincere appreciation to UOW Malaysia Alumna, Ms Lim Mei Mei (Manager, Human Resources) and Mr Fareez Roslan (Rooms Division Manager), and the entire team at Citadines Prai Penang for their warm hospitality, thoughtful arrangements, and willingness to share their professional knowledge and experiences. Their engaging session provided both students and lecturers with meaningful industry perspectives that were truly enriching and inspiring.
