At UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College: USM March 2024 semester new students Orientation.

The collaboration between UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College and University Sains Malaysia (USM), a public university in Penang, Malaysia to offer an offshore USM undergraduate Computer Science program began with a shared vision; to enrich the educational landscape and provide unparalleled opportunities for students. Recognizing each other’s strengths, both institutions set out combining resources and expertise to create a unique pathway for students, in particular foreign students seeking higher education.

One year into the collaboration, on 22^nd March 2024, UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College team led by the Registrar, Ms. Ivy Beh together with the Program Coordinator, Dr. Wong Khang Siang and Registry Manager, Ms. Ariani Dewi attended the third (3^rd) batch of new intake Orientation at USM, to meet and greet 65 students who will study for their USM Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College. Together with them is the Dean of School of Computer Science, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Bahari Belaton.

On 25^th March 2024, an Orientation welcoming the new students to our Batu Kawan campus was held.

The third batch of student intake, i.e. the March 2024 semester has the highest student number with 65 new students from China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia.

Recognizing the teams’ effort and the success of the collaboration bringing in a total enrolment of 135 foreign students within a year, on 26^th March 2024, USM Senior Management headed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dato’ Gs. Dr. Narimah Samat visited all the students studying at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College and met up with all the lecturers teaching the program.

What began as a simple collaboration between UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College and USM blossomed into a transformative journey, opening doors of opportunity for countless students and paving the way for a brighter future in education. Through dedication, vision and partnership we are indeed inspired to achieve far more than we ever could alone.
