UOW Malaysia is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Teoh Jia En, a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with Honours student, who secured 1st Runner‑up in both the Women’s Doubles (17–39) and Women’s Singles (17–39) categories at the 4th Jingfa Cup (2026), International Badminton Invitational Tournament, held on 30 May – 31 May 2026 at the A PLUS 4 (Kepong) Badminton Centre.

This year’s tournament welcomed competitors from Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, and Macau, underscoring its international prestige and competitive diversity.

Jia En’s badminton journey began at the age of five, inspired by her cousins and sister who initially did not want to play with her — a moment that motivated her to pursue formal training. What started as a simple childhood experience has grown into a lifelong passion for the sport. Over the years, she has represented her primary and secondary schools, as well as the state of Selangor, in numerous competitions. Beyond competing, she has dedicated over three years to coaching players at both primary and secondary school levels, instilling technical skills, confidence, discipline, and a love for badminton.

Her past competitive track record reflects her perseverance and commitment to excellence:

2021    2nd Runner‑up, Kejohanan MSSD Secara Dalam Talian.

2022    Champion, Kejohanan MSSD Under‑18 Women’s Doubles.

2024    1st Runner‑up, MASISWA Sarawak Zone Mixed Doubles.

2025    Champion, Women’s Doubles Open and Mixed Doubles Open at the JingFa International Badminton Invitational Tournament.

2nd Runner‑up, Mixed Doubles Semi‑Pro at the BSC Club Badminton Championship.

Speaking about her journey, Jia En shared that badminton has not only been a competitive pursuit but also a source of stress relief and friendship during her university years. Her recent success at the JingFa Cup further underscores her dedication to continuous improvement and her passion for the sport.
