For 71 UOW Malaysia students, the future of mobility came into sharp focus during an industry visit to Tesla Malaysia in Cyberjaya. Organised by the university’s Student Entrepreneurship & Teamwork (SET) Club, the trip wasn’t just a tour; it was a deep dive into the heart of a company that’s electrifying the world.

The adventure began bright and early on 25 July 2025. The group arrived at Tesla’s facility where they were greeted with a warm welcome from Miss Loo Yinyin, their host for the day. Her hospitality set the stage for an engaging and educational experience.

The students were immediately immersed in the world of Tesla, starting with an in-depth company briefing. They learned about Tesla’s ambitious global mission, its groundbreaking EV technology, and its unwavering commitment to sustainable energy. It was a masterclass in how innovation and eco-consciousness can drive a global enterprise.

After the briefing, the group was taken on a guided tour, exploring the inner workings of the facility. They got a firsthand look at how the company’s unique business model and innovation-driven culture translate into real-world operations. From brand strategy to environmental initiatives, students discovered the multi-faceted approach that makes Tesla a leader in its field.

Perhaps the most impactful moment was the lively Q&A session. Students seized the opportunity to engage directly with the Tesla team, asking thought-provoking questions that sparked a deeper understanding of technology, branding, and sustainable development. The interactive exchange provided insights that no textbook could offer.

The visit to Tesla Malaysia was more than just an outing—it was a powerful learning experience that bridged the gap between classroom theory and industry practice. It offered these future leaders a valuable glimpse into one of the world’s most innovative companies and left them with a jolt of inspiration for their own academic and professional journeys.
