Industrial Visit to M-Creative Sdn. Bhd.

A total of 16 students from University of Lincoln were visited M-Creative for their industrial visit.

Tony Ho, a representative from M-Creative explained to the University of Lincoln’s students on how to do a good designing.

“Inspiration for good designing will come from the bad designing; think outside of the box and keep on trying to make your design become reality.

Sometimes, a huge investment and good clients will help your outcome look better than the real idea,” said Tony Ho Coo, a representative from M-Creative Sdn Bhd, Penang.

He added that interior design and architecture courses are in good demand now as most of the clients are looking for different and creative designs for their corporate offices, houses, retail shops, hospitality facilities and many more.

A total of 16 students from the University of Lincoln, UK, visited M-Creative for their industrial visit during their summer school programme for 2 weeks to KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang).

Among the cool experiences they had at M-Creative was having coffee next to a life-size statue of Iron Man and getting tips on designing methods as well as learning about various machines and tools used for creating attractive designs.

“Usually one designing project will take about six months and it also will take quite a long time to prepare the proposal for the client, sell the idea and work out budgets and materials,” said Tony during the questions and answers session with the students from UoL.

He added that the most challenging part in the designing industry is beating the competition and keeping prices attractive while producing better service and quality.

The students enjoyed their tour of M-Creative’s large workshop and art gallery, experience their work culture, watch how various machines are used to create attractive designs.

“KDU Penang sends design students to M-Creative for their internships and regularly conduct industrial visits there for students to see the real working environment,” said Anna Lim, manager of Career and Placement Center of KDU Penang.

KDU Penang provides practical education for students and an environment that fosters critical thinking to produce industry-ready graduates. This commitment will continue now that KDU Penang is a part of University of Wollongong, which is in the top 2% of universities worldwide, including QS World University Rankings.
