August 2025 brought two exciting opportunities for UOW Malaysia students to experience learning beyond the classroom.
First, on 7 August, students from the Event Management program attended EventXpo 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia’s largest platform for the events industry. Guided by two lecturers, nine students explored industry booths, networked with professionals, and gained insights from talks on esports, event risk management, and sustainable business models. The event also featured the launch of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, inspiring students to see their role in shaping the future of Malaysia’s tourism and events industry.
A week later, on 14 August, 40 students toured the Vitagen factory in Petaling Jaya, where they gained a behind-the-scenes look at probiotic production, from raw ingredients to finished products, while also learning about the role of probiotics in digestive health. Through guided tours, presentations, and discussions, students saw how science and industry come together to deliver everyday consumer health solutions.
Together, these local experiences reinforced UOW Malaysia’s commitment to hands-on, real-world learning—where knowledge steps outside the classroom and into practice.
