The best way to learn is by doing, and that’s the core principle behind the Cart Business event. This semester, at the UOW Malaysia Glenmarie Campus, 156 students put their business skills to the test, taking their ideas from concept to reality in a live, campus-wide market.
Students from a variety of schools teamed up to plan every detail of their pop-up businesses. They set sales targets, selected their products, and designed their stalls, all while learning to manage finances and marketing in a real-world setting.
The event officially kicked off with an air horn blast from Mr Gabriel Lau Chi Wen, Principal, UOWM KDU College, and the energy was palpable. With 26 stalls offering everything from snacks to games, the campus was buzzing. Tutors were on hand to mentor students on everything from customer service to financial goals, while the MarCom team captured the excitement.
The day concluded, but the learning didn’t stop there. The event was an invaluable experience for every student involved, providing a springboard for their entrepreneurial ambitions and bringing them one step closer to turning their ideas into a career.
