The School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts at UOW Malaysia hosted an inspiring career talk on 25 July 2025 to help 30 students prepare for their upcoming internships and provide valuable insights into career development.
The session featured a leading figure in the hospitality world, Mr Wolfgang Kiesel, General Manager of Pullman KLCC. Drawing on his extensive international experience, Mr Kiesel shared invaluable insights on what employers look for in interns and entry-level staff, highlighting the importance of soft skills like professionalism, adaptability, and communication.
The interactive talk offered a bridge between academic learning and real-world experience, with students actively engaging with Mr Kiesel and asking for advice on their career paths. The event left attendees with key takeaways, including the understanding that internships are gateways to future employment and that a strong work ethic is crucial for career progression.
