The SHTCA Pop-Up Bazaar Ramadan 2026, held on 10 March 2026 at the UOW Malaysia atrium, transformed the campus into a lively marketplace while giving students practical experience in event management.
Organised by 15 student committee members from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, the bazaar featured 20 vendors offering a variety of food, beverages, festive items, merchandise and apparel. The event attracted strong participation from students and staff throughout the afternoon.
Planned as part of the Event Marketing & Sponsorship and Cultural Studies coursework, the initiative brought together Degree and Diploma students to manage vendor coordination, promotions and event operations in a real-world setting. In addition, the event was supported by sponsorship from 7Days, contributing to its success and vibrant atmosphere.
Through this hands-on project, students gained valuable insights into event planning, marketing strategies and stakeholder engagement, reinforcing the importance of teamwork and industry-ready skills.
