On the 12th of July 2023, the Student & Alumni Centre (SAC) held its annual UOW Malaysia Education & Career Fair at the Atrium, UOW Malaysia, Glenmarie Campus. This event was held in order to give exposure to students about the industries that pique their interest, discover potential internship placement or career prospect, and the opportunity to build strong network with industry professionals.

Furthermore, this event was joined by 18 companies which included UOW Malaysia, Graduan, Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia, AUG Student Services, GroupM Malaysia, Vivahomes Realty Sdn. Bhd., Agoda International Sdn. Bhd., The Ritz-Carlton, Shared Experience Art Machine, Finpreneur Consultancy, One Stop Solution Advisory, Bee Inspire Empire, British American Tobacco Digital Business Solutions, PJ Vision Wealth Advisory, Ebright Sdn. Bhd., Marriott International, STS Brilliant Agency, and Homecity Real Estate Sdn. Bhd. Each company was present with their own dedicated team of personnel.

One day prior to the event, the SAC had arranged the placement of covered banquet tables, chairs, and PowerPoint display for the involved companies according to the booth directory plan. On the day of the event, representatives from each company began setting-up at 8.30 AM until 10.00 AM. Once the companies were ready, Noraizah Syzawani, announcer for Education & Career Fair, started to commence the event by introducing the companies involved.

The event reached its peak after 12.00 PM as crowds’ attention were captivated by the variety of displays, enticing presentations and entertaining activities. Aside from students, members of the public also attended the event either in search of educational, vocational or career opportunities.

Even though the event gradually came to an end at 4.00 PM, some companies were still engaging with the crowd and responded to their queries. The SAC assisted in wrapping up the event by disassembling buntings and other equipment.

Overall, the event was a success with positive feedbacks from the attending companies and received mass engagement from the crowd. Also, students were able to find relevant information pertaining to what they study at UOW from the professionals themselves.
