Five lecturers from the School of Engineering of University of Wollongong Malaysia bagged awards at the Institution of Engineers Malaysia Annual Dinner and Awards Night. The event is a premier networking event for engineers nationwide.  Among them, Ir. Dr. Tan Sin Jin serves as a co-opted member of the Seniors Special Interest Group, while Ir. Ts. Zainon Sharmila Shamsudin is a committee member. Ir. Ts. Ainon Shakila Shamsudin and Ts. Nur Hasalli Ibrahim are co-opted members of the Engineering Education Technical Division, and Ir. Shamila Ariaratnam holds the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Electrical Engineering Technical Division (EETD).

EETD received three awards for their outstanding achievements in 2023:

• Presidential Award of Excellence: 1^st runner-up
• Highest Number of Events Conducted: 1^st runner-up
• Highest Paid Number of Participants of Events Conducted: 2^nd runner-up

The Guest of Honour at this event was Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation.
