UOW Malaysia proudly celebrates Professor Dr Yeap Gik Hong (Head of Operations (Batu Kawan campus) and Head of School of Engineering (Batu Kawan and Glenmarie campuses)), who has been internationally recognised by the International TRIZ Association (MATRIZ)—the global body that promotes the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) and advances innovation methodologies worldwide—for his outstanding contributions to innovation and problem-solving education.
The honour was conferred during the 20th International Conference, TRIZFest-2025, held at Universitas Islam Indonesia from 11 to 14 November 2025. Professor Yeap was acknowledged for his pivotal role in advancing TRIZ methodology across academia, industry, and the wider community in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region.
A certified MATRIZ Level 3 User and active leader within the Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association (MyTRIZ), Professor Yeap has consistently championed innovation-driven thinking. His efforts have empowered students and professionals alike, leading to award-winning achievements at both regional and international levels.
Professor Yeap received the MATRIZ Certificate of Gratitude from Mr Tan Eng Hoo, Vice President of MATRIZ, on 3 April 2026 in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting of MyTRIZ.
This recognition underscores UOW Malaysia’s commitment to fostering innovation, excellence, and global impact through its academic leaders.
