Three students from the School of Law of UOW Malaysia—Iman Mi’shyra binti Mohsin, Alicia Baptist, and Lee Yun Xi—made us proud by advancing to the international rounds of the prestigious LAWASIA International Moot Competition. Notably, UOW Malaysia is one of only three institutions to qualify for this prestigious stage.

From the outset, the National Rounds held within 9 – 11 August 2024 at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), was a rigorous battleground, testing participants on their legal knowledge, strategic thinking, and advocacy skills. Iman, Alicia, and Lee showcased exceptional skill and strategy, going head-to-head with formidable opponents from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Brickfields Asia College (BAC), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Their impressive performance earned them a commendable 4th place, out of 16 competing teams.

This remarkable achievement has paved the way for an exciting new chapter: LAWASIA Moot Competition – International Rounds scheduled to take place within 12 – 15 October 2024. The trio will continue to make their mark on a global stage.
