On 23 April 2024, Amaresh Malakar Choudhury, a final year Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) student at UOW Malaysia, alongside his partner Ng Aik Sha, has secured an impressive victory at the Taipei International Gymkhana Prize (TIGP), solidifying their standing as emerging talents in the global motorsport scene. Their exceptional teamwork led them to clinch first place in both the Mixed Doubles Category of the Asian Auto Gymkhana Championship (AAGC) and the TIGP, showcasing their remarkable synergy on the track.
Additionally, Team Malaysia emerged as the overall champion in the AAGC, underscoring the nation’s excellence in motorsport
The TIGP attracted 48 professional racers from 16 countries, including Malaysia, Slovakia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Germany, UK, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and India. Designed to offer a level playing field for the world’s top gymkhana drivers, the event featured identical vehicles, ensuring fairness and inclusivity for all participants.
