The School of Engineering, Computing & Built Environment, UOWM KDU Penang University College bagged the Champion tittle at KDU Penang University College (UOWM-KDU Penang) Interschool Badminton Competition 2019.

A total of 30 participants from different schools from UOWM KDU Penang University College against each other during the Interschool Badminton Competition 2019.

Thirty shuttlers battled it out and had a ‘smashing’ time at the UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College (UOWM-KDU Penang) Interschool Badminton Competition 2019.
They fought on three courts running 15 intense doubles matches to find who had the best reflexes and most stamina.

And the champs turned out to be students from the School of Engineering, Computing & Built Environment.
The interschool badminton challenge pits UOWM-KDU Penang students from all the different schools against each other. It was organised by UOWM-KDU Penang’s Badminton Club on Oct 19, 2019, at LTT Badminton Courts and Training Centre, Ayer Itam, Penang.

“It was an exciting game as most of us love activities outside of the classroom and sports to feel refreshed after our many assignments and classes,” said Dicky Larson, the President of UOWM KDU Badminton Club.

“Our main objective was to recruit new members for our club from the participants and we successfully did it,” he added.

The players who won glory for the School of Engineering, Computing & Built Environment were Ang Chun, Chin Kar Chung, Go Chin Gee, Jason Tan, Khoo Ding Xuan, Law Kai Wen, Lim Zhan Ming, Ng Di Xon and Pey Hong Bin.

“We are planning to organise more badminton competitions between UOWM-KDU Penang with other universities and more International level competition,” said Dicky Larson.

UOWM-KDU Penang provides a platform for the students to challenge them physically and mentally. UOWM-KDU Penang is a part of the University of Wollongong from Australia, which is in the top 2% of universities worldwide, including QS World University Rankings and first foreign university in the Northern Region.
