Professor Dr J. Joshua Thomas Email: [email protected] Professor J. Joshua Thomas has a distinguished academic career in Computer Science, specializing in intelligent systems and advanced computational techniques. He earned his Ph.D. in Intelligent Systems Techniques from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, in 2015 and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Madurai Kamaraj University, India (1999). Between 2012 and 2017, he served as Head and Deputy Head of the Department of Computing, demonstrating his strong leadership in academic administration. Earlier in his career, he contributed as a Research Assistant (2005) and Research Associate (2008–2010) at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Professor Thomas’ research focuses on intelligent systems and interdisciplinary computational algorithms. His recent work emphasizes emerging technologies, including Deep Learning, Graph Convolutional Neural Networks (GCNN), Graph Recurrent Neural Networks (GRNN), Hyper-Graph Attention Networks, and Quantum Machine Learning. His projects span diverse applications, such as end-to-end steering learning systems, algorithm design in drug discovery, and advanced data analytics. An active researcher and innovator, Professor Thomas serves as a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on multiple grants at institutional, national, and international levels. His contributions to academia include over 50 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and conference proceedings. He has also authored and edited 12 books with renowned publishers such as Wiley, Elsevier, and IGI Global. Professor Thomas is an editorial board member for the International Journal of Energy Optimization and Engineering (IJEOE) and a guest editor for esteemed journals such as Applied Sciences, Computations (MDPI), Mathematics Biosciences and Engineering (MBE), and Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences (CMES). As a sought-after speaker, Professor Thomas regularly delivers keynote addresses, plenary lectures, and workshops, Faculty development programming in INDIA and at international conferences, including webinars, IAIM2019, IVIC2021, IVIC2023.
