How long is the program? One Session (estimated duration: 5 months) Spring Session 2023 Orientation: 17 July 2023 Classes commence: 24 July 2023 Classes finish: 27 October 2023 Exam: 4 – 16 November 2023 How much will the program cost? Exchange students will be paying their tuition fee to UOW Malaysia based on the local fees. Other fees like visa fees, living expenses and accommodation fees (estimated costs: AUD$ 9,500) are borne by the student unless stated otherwise. Will I get credits for units I study overseas? Yes, so long as you take units approved by your School. Who is eligible? Applicable for Year One (Semester 2) to Year 2 (Semester 5) full-time degree student at UOW Malaysia. Achieved a CGPA of at least 2.75 and above Possess reasonable command of English language Good health and fit for travel abroad Must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of host university or placement provider Should demonstrate empathy and understanding of cultural differences Should demonstrate excellent personal skills Agrees to be responsible for the costs incurred Do I have to enrol at UOW Malaysia while I am overseas? Yes, you will continue to be enrolled as a UOW Malaysia student whilst overseas. How do I apply? All students who wish to apply for a student exchange program must complete the application form. Application Period: Exchange in Spring Session: 1 April 2023 – 16 April 2023 Will UOW Malaysia help me find accommodation? UOW Australia has on-campus accommodation and can help arrange this for you. However, with some universities, on-campus accommodation is extremely limited, and you may have to secure your accommodation. They may be able to advise you on some off-campus accommodation options, but you are still entirely responsible for making your arrangements. Exchange students are responsible for obtaining their own visas to cover the duration of their exchange. UOW Malaysia will assist with certifying your supporting documents and issuing confirmation of enrolment. Apply for a sub-class 500 student visa at https://online.immi.gov.au/lusc/login after you are accepted by UOW Australia and received an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) from UOW Australia. Are there quotas for the program? The program is limited to 10 selected UOW Malaysia Students. We appreciate the interest, and should any parties are still keen on attending (while not being chosen initially), they can still do so. However, the cost (AUD$9,990*) for the program will be borne by the students themselves. * The cost only covers the tuition fee.
