Library, University of Wollongong Malaysia –
Glenmarie Campus

The Teo Soo Pin Library serves as the central library for the Selangor campus under the UOW Malaysia structure, supporting academic excellence through access to quality information resources, research assistance, and a welcoming environment that nurtures learning and discovery.

Purposefully designed to reflect the campus’s contemporary industrial architecture, the Library spans two floors and features an interior defined by neutral tones, exposed metal details, and warm wood textures. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows invite abundant natural light into the space, creating a sense of openness and calm. These windows also extend into the Quiet Zone on the upper floor, offering tranquil views that enhance focus and reflection.

The Library is thoughtfully organised into zones that cater to diverse learning needs. The Interactive Zone on the first floor provides a vibrant setting for group work and discussions. It includes Learning Pods, Meeting Pods, and a Study Lounge, all equipped with video-conferencing facilities to support online collaboration and project-based learning. An adjoining outdoor seating area facing the campus façade offers an inviting alfresco alternative for study or conversation.

For quiet and focused study, the Quiet Zone on the second floor offers a calm, distraction-free environment with a whisper-only policy. This area features individual study carrels, Study Pods, and a Brainstorming Room, supporting independent learning, revision, and creative thinking.

To enhance user convenience, a self-service checkout station allows borrowing with ease, while a 24-hour Book Drop located outside the Library entrance enables returns at any time of the day.

Embracing a vibrant and contemporary design concept, the Library spans two floors and presents a refreshing contrast to the industrial-inspired Teo Soo Pin Library at Glenmarie. The interior features bright colours, creative layouts, and thoughtfully selected furnishings that foster an energetic and engaging atmosphere. Large windows fill the space with natural light and offer scenic views overlooking the garden and surrounding greenery, creating an uplifting environment that inspires learning and creativity.

The Library is organised to support both collaborative and individual learning experiences. On the ground floor, a flexible Learning Stage provides a dynamic venue for spontaneous presentations, informal discussions, and campus engagement activities. It can also be adapted for cultural or academic events. Adjacent to it, the AV Room and Multipurpose Room are available for booking by academic staff to conduct classes, tutorials, or group sessions.

The first floor offers a variety of collaborative seating options, including Idea Pods, Study Pods, and a Lounge Seating Area, designed to support teamwork, discussions, and project work. Throughout the Library, seating is arranged in diverse configurations to accommodate different learning preferences, with electrical outlets conveniently located to support device use.

For those seeking a quieter environment, individual study carrels with opaque panels are available on both floors. These designated spaces provide privacy and minimal distractions, fostering concentration and productive academic work in a calm setting.

To enhance user convenience, a self-service checkout station enables easy borrowing, while a 24-hour Book Drop located at the Library entrance allows items to be returned at any time of the day.
