The Student and Alumni Centre of UOW Malaysia Glenmarie Campus organised a Campus Breakout on Tuesday, the 13th of June 2023. The event was meant to serve as a recruitment drive for clubs and societies as well as to encourage student involvement in club activities. The event took place at the Atrium and was held from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

The reception of the event was remarkably well, with an appreciable crowd, a good number of vendors to liven the scene, and inter-club engagements throughout the entire duration. This was also aided by the fact that it was a weekday, and many students were present on campus to attend their respective lectures.

The event preceded by a venue setup at 9.00 am and at 10.00 am, and an opening announcement by the Emcee, Noraizah Syzawani Binti Abd Halim, marked the start of the event. Proceeding that, a club pitching activity took place until 4.00 pm. The emcee would approach each of the club’s booths to facilitate and allow club representatives to pitch on behalf of their clubs. The pitching was done in sequence starting with school clubs, then interest clubs, and followed by cultural clubs.

Multiple vendors had set up their stalls and offered a variety of edible delights, goods as well as services. There were items, tacos, shaved ice, coffee, tea, pastry, and snacks. Bigo Live had also established a booth centred on talent recruitment and training for those with the aptitude for being influencers.

Overall, the event proceeded as planned and with exceptional support from all parties involved. The event was concluded at exactly 4.00 pm and by 5.30 pm all cleanup was complete. The event was a success, garnering significant student engagement, inter-club collaborations, and profits for certain clubs.
