Dr Pradeep Isawasan, a lecturer in the Department of Computing at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College held a research seminar titled “Combinatrics of Words: On Prouhet Morphisms and Parich Matrices” in the campus recently. Dr Isawasan is involved in teaching various courses on Web Technologies, Machine learning & Computer Vision and Data Structure & Algorithms.
He graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics in 2008 and received his Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2012. He subsequently joined the School of Computer Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia as a graduate research assistant in 2012 and in 2015 successfully defended his PhD in Computer Science.
Currently his primary research is the investigation of efficient algorithms for picture array generation. Specifically, Dr Isawasan is investigating Formal Language Theory, particularly array grammar, a subset of Theoretical Computer Science. His research goals are directed towards the investigation of picture array generation and reconstruction based on certain theoretical models.
