Heading straight off to pursue your degree just after leaving school can be quite daunting. A foundation year can help you to develop the skills, knowledge as well as confidence for a full degree course. Here are some advantages of taking up a foundation program: A foundation year helps to bridge the gap between school and university. This provides you the time to adjust to new teaching methods, make new friends and get used to a new environment. You will be able to explore the subjects that are related to the course that you plan to take for your degree. This allows you to consider if the subjects are suitable for you, and gives you a chance to switch courses for your degree if you need to. Foundation programs may be shorter in duration as compared to other pre-university programs such as the A-Levels. Foundation programs are cost friendly Foundation programs usually combine coursework, class assessment and exams for your grade. While the weight of each will depend on your college, it is far less stressful as compared to a course that is 100% exam based. This is especially true for students who are less academically inclined. * Terms and conditions apply. Due to specific entry requirements, applications for UOW programs will be sent to UOW for assessment before final acceptance. # For more information about CGPA please refer to uow.edu.au/study/international/credit-transfer/credit/malaysia/
