Computing:

UOW Malaysia recognises the importance of bridging the gap between academic content and industry practice in computing. Regardless of the chosen stream, students are grounded in programming, algorithmic thinking, application design, and system testing—essential skills for today’s software engineering and computer science course graduates in Malaysia.

UOW Malaysia offer programs across 3 out of 4 major facets of computing, as defined by the Association for Computing Machinery, the world’s largest scientific and educational society for computing:

  • Computer Science
  • Software Engineering
  • Information Systems

These pathways align with the growing demand for digital skills and appeal to students aiming for competitive software engineer salary outcomes in Malaysia and abroad. Whether you’re starting with an IT course or branching into a bachelor degree of information systems, our programs are designed to stay relevant in a fast-evolving digital landscape.

“Our strong industry collaborations benefit students who actively engage with potential employers before even graduating.”

Strategic Partnerships:

We work with selected industry partners and organisations to provide practical tools, training content, and real-world exposure. Students gain experience through collaborations with global tech players such as the IEEE Computer Society and Ouandatics (M) Sdn. Bhd. which is particularly relevant for those in computing fields. As an academic partner for Epic Games’ Unreal Engine in Southeast Asia, UOW Malaysia students stay ahead with the latest in real-time development tools, especially valuable for those pursuing careers in game development or creative media.
