What is Foundation in Science?

This is a pre-university program that focuses on science related subjects such as chemistry, biology and physics as well as mathematics and information technology. It aims to provide pre-university students a smooth transition from secondary school/high school to a university degree.

The program will give students a strong foundation as well as the basic skills needed for a science-related degree.

Why study Foundation in Science?

  • It prepares you for your university degree. You will be provided with a strong foundation in science subjects as well as be given the opportunity to explore different topics that may be of interest to you.
  • It gives you a smooth transition towards your bachelor degree.
  • It is one of the fastest ways to gain entry into a science-related degree. Compared to other pre-university programs, such as A Levels or STPM, the Foundation in Science program is usually about 1 year in duration.

Can you switch to a non-science degree after a Foundation in Science?
