Multidisciplinary. Flexible.
Stimulating independence and creativity.

You will be able to improve your academic skills and performance.

Foundation studies, also known as foundation courses, are designed to prepare students for university-level education. By taking on courses that interest you, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and practise academic writing, independent study, and research skills, as well as time management skills that will be essential for your future success in your chosen bachelor’s degree program.

You will be able to choose a stream that you are passionate about. Our Foundation Studies program in Glenmarie, Selangor campus covers several fields. This allows students to get started on subject areas that interest them and decide whether or not they later want to pursue tertiary education in that field. For example, there are foundation streams in Business, Communication & Creative Arts, Computing, Digital & Creative Media, Hospitality, Game Development & Law.

You will have the opportunity to adjust to a tertiary education environment.

By completing a foundation program at UOW Malaysia, students are better prepared for the rigours of university-level education and can make a smooth transition into their chosen degree program.

The course allows you the time to adjust to tertiary education before you actually do your degree. This means you will already know your way around campus, have a rough idea of what to expect in the subjects that you want to pursue and be well adjusted to university schedules even before your bachelor degree program starts!
