Dr. Lee Gin Chong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and joined UOW Malaysia KDU University College in October 2022. He currently serves as the Programme Leader for Postgraduate Programs in the School of Engineering, Computing and Built Environment.

He contributes to the development of new subjects and the enhancement of course content in Artificial Intelligence in Engineering, Microcontrollers and Microprocessors, State-Space Control, C Programming, Python Programming, Digital Electronics, Embedded Systems, Robotics, and Automation. He also supervises postgraduate research projects and undergraduate final-year projects in the areas of Robotics, AI-enabled Systems, and Microcontroller-based Systems.

An experienced academician with more than 20 years of research and teaching experience in engineering higher education since 2006, he consistently demonstrates excellence in teaching, cultivates students’ interest in research, and encourages them to excel academically. He is actively involved in Artificial Intelligence research, particularly in Deep Learning and Neural Networks, as well as Human–Computer Interaction research activities. At his previous higher education institution, he served as Chairman of the Alumni Committee, contributed to academic quality assurance initiatives, and participated as both a project leader and project member for several research grants.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electronics Engineering, majoring in Computer Engineering, from Multimedia University in 2006 with a CGPA of 3.92. He later obtained a Master of Engineering Science in Robotics from the same university in 2012 and completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Artificial Intelligence at Universiti Malaya in 2022.
