Suguna Migeemanathan Email: [email protected] Suguna. M is a lecturer and Industrial Placement Coordinator in the School of Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary Arts at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College since 2014. From September 2013 to April 2014, she worked as a Tutor and Research Assistant at the School of Industrial Technology at the University Science Malaysia. She has published various journal papers and one of her research works was accepted in the Q2 journal of Food-Borne Disease. She has also attended and published her research papers in local and international conference proceedings. As the principal researcher for the UOW Internal grant in 2019 & recently in 2023, Suguna’s leadership in research has been commendable. Certified as a Hospitality Trainer by the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), Suguna has extensive industrial linkages with leading hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and InterContinental. Her students have been placed in various countries including Dubai, New Zealand, Maldives, Singapore, and the United States. Suguna has actively contributed as a judge in science fairs and cooking competitions, and she has authored articles on student community engagement in the Apucen Bulletin 2021, USM. She has organized numerous career talks and job fairs, coordinated MOUs with prestigious hotels, and created motivational content for the hospitality industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Suguna’s future plans involve developing food products that sustain healthy and nutritious options for future generations. Her dedication to teaching, research, and industry collaboration underscores her significant impact on the field of hospitality and culinary arts.
