A warm welcome to all international students. All international students are required to hold a valid student pass to study in Malaysia. UOW Malaysia students embrace a diverse environment that is rich in multi-cultures, languages and religions. You will find information on the admissions process to UOW Malaysia in the following steps.

All international students are required to hold a valid student pass during their course of study in Malaysia.

  1. Completed UOW Malaysia Application Form.
  2. Completed UOW Malaysia Accommodation form (if accommodation is required).
  3. Health Declaration form signed by the student.
  4. High resolution scan copy of passport (ALL pages in color).
    • 2 pages of passport to be copied in 1 page of A4 paper & page numbers must be clearly visible.
    • Passport must have at least 18 months of validity (30 months of validity for Indonesian), passport MUST have at least 5 blank pages.
    • If during time of application & photocopying of passport, the applicant already entered Malaysia, then IMMIGRATION EXIT stamp page is needed.
  5. Certified true copy of Academic Certificates & Transcripts.
  6. Passport-sized photograph with white background (3.5cm [W] * 4.5cm[H])
  7. English Language Proficiency test score such as IELTS/ TOEFL/ PEARSON ; or other qualifications equivalent (if applicable).

 

Other documents (if necessary):

  1. Research proposal and curriculum vitae/resume (for Postgraduate application)
  2. Release letter, results and attendance report (for transfer student within Malaysia’s institution).
  3. No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Sudan or Letter of Eligibility (LOE) for Iranian & Libyan.
  4. Copy of yellow fever vaccination card (for students from a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission, or have stayed in transit within these countries for more than 12 hours.)

  5. The international student need to pay the Registration Fees + EMGS Fees.

An acceptance letter will be issued after UOW Malaysia has reviewed your application and payment. (1-2 days)

  • UOW Malaysia will submit the application to Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) to process for Electronic Visa Approval Letter (e-VAL). EMGS will request additional or rectify documents, if any.
  • The process will take about 8 weeks*. Any late application may result in deferment of the intake date.

* depends on processing time by EMGS.
* we may not be able to obtain the e-VAL for you on time if your application is received less than 8 weeks from the program intake dates. We will assist in your Student Pass application but we will not be held liable for any change in policies by the Ministry of Education (MOE)/EMGS/ Immigration department of Malaysia in regards to issuance of the e-VAL.

  • If application is approved, UOW Malaysia will inform you and you are required to pay the remaining fee in the first semester before Electronic Visa Approval Letter (e-VAL) is sent to you while you are still in your country.
  • If application is rejected, UOW Malaysia will inform you and the initial payment is not refundable.
