About the Sustainability Living Lab (SLL)

The UOW Malaysia Sustainability Living Lab (SLL) is a transformative initiative that turns sustainability ambitions into real-world impact. It reimagines the campus as a living, learning, and innovation hub where sustainable living is not only studied but also practiced. As a dynamic platform, the SLL integrates sustainability into every aspect of campus life through hands-on projects, cutting-edge research, and community engagement. Rooted in environmental stewardship, innovation, and collaboration, it functions as a real-world testing ground for sustainable practices. By uniting academia, industry, government, and the community through the Quadruple Helix model, the SLL fosters the co-creation of impactful solutions. Through interdisciplinary initiatives, active student involvement, and global partnerships, it reflects UOW Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to sustainability locally and beyond. The SLL is currently based at the Glenmarie Campus and will be further replicated at the Penang Campus and Utropolis Marketplace, extending its reach and impact across UOW Malaysia’s network.
