Step 1: Meet the Entry Requirements

To enrol in the Diploma in Nursing at UOW Malaysia, you need:

  • a minimum of in SPM, including Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, and a Science subject (Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Science)
  • a pass in 2 other subjects including English

Meeting these requirements is your first step toward a profession built on care, skill, and lifelong learning.

Step 2: Enrol in a Diploma in Nursing Course

This is where it all begins. The University of Wollongong Malaysia’s 3-year Diploma in Nursing program prepares you for real-world care through a blend of theory and practice. You’ll study nursing, health, and behavioural sciences, and apply your learning through lab sessions and clinical placements in diverse healthcare environments.

Step 3: Complete Clinical Placements

Clinical placements are a core part of the nursing course, giving you hands-on experience in hospitals and clinics across Malaysia. Step 4: Pass the Malaysian Nursing Board Examination

Once you’ve completed your diploma, you’ll have to sit for and pass the Malaysian Nursing Board Examination. This final assessment ensures you meet national standards and are fully prepared to begin professional practice.

Step 5: Register with the Malaysian Nursing Board

After passing the examination, you can now register with the Malaysian Nursing Board to become a licensed, registered nurse, a mandatory requirement for practicing nursing in Malaysia.
